What broker sync does

Broker synchronization is in development to help users bring read-only brokerage data into Optioneer for portfolio tracking and analytics. Today, Optioneer supports manual tracking and CSV imports, with future broker synchronization planned as a Premium roadmap feature.

Supported brokers

Interactive Brokers (IBKR) is the first planned read-only broker synchronization path. Optioneer may expand broker support as broker review, user demand, and compliance requirements allow.

Read-only portfolio synchronization

Synchronization is analytics-only. Optioneer does not request or use trading permissions, does not send orders to brokers, and does not alter brokerage accounts. Users remain fully in control of their brokerage accounts at all times.

Supported synced data

Depending on broker availability and user authorization, Optioneer may synchronize:

  • Positions
  • Balances
  • Transactions
  • Options activity

Automatic portfolio updates

If future broker synchronization becomes available, Optioneer is intended to refresh authorized portfolio data so users can review tracking and analytics without repeatedly entering the same broker data by hand. Updates are limited to read-only synchronization.

Sync lifecycle

  • A future supported broker integration becomes available.
  • The user authorizes a read-only broker connection where available.
  • Optioneer imports available read-only account data for analytics.
  • Imported data is normalized into portfolio tracking views.
  • Future refreshes keep the portfolio analytics view current.

Reconnect flow

If future broker access expires, is revoked, or needs user action, Optioneer will ask the user to reconnect before synchronization can continue. Reconnection is user initiated, available only for supported planned integrations, and does not grant trading permissions.

Manual disconnect flow

If a future broker connection is supported, users can disconnect a broker from Optioneer to stop future synchronization. They may also revoke access directly through their broker's security or third-party app settings where available.

Security & privacy

Broker data is used to power the user's own portfolio tracking and analytics experience. Optioneer does not sell personal broker data and does not expose broker credentials in the application. See our Security page and Privacy Policy for more detail.
