Yes. Optioneer can be used to practice options strategies by manually tracking positions and reviewing how P&L and Greeks evolve over time. It’s useful for traders who want to learn strategy behavior before risking real capital.
Optioneer is built for two main types of retail traders: 1) Active traders who want a dedicated tool to track their real options portfolios, P&L, and exposure. 2) Beginners and learners who want to practice options strategies manually with paper portfolios before risking real capital.
Create an account, activate your Premium trial, add a portfolio, and start logging your practice trades using the trade entry form. You can use the options screener to find realistic market prices and enter them as your cost basis.
Yes! Premium users can create multiple portfolios, meaning you can easily have one portfolio dedicated to tracking your real brokerage account, and another one strictly for testing new ideas or paper trading.
A clean options portfolio tracker built for retail investors who want clarity and control. Track real positions or practice with paper portfolios, view Greeks, and analyze P&L in one simple dashboard. Optioneer is not a brokerage and does not execute trades.
No. Optioneer is not a broker and does not place trades or execute orders. Broker Sync is read-only and used only for portfolio tracking and transaction import. Optioneer does not rebalance accounts or request trading permissions.

Yes. CSV import is available in Premium, and manual trade entry remains supported. After the trial, active paid Premium users can also connect a supported brokerage to sync current positions and cash and import eligible transaction history.
Broker connectivity is provided through SnapTrade. Active paid Premium users can connect supported brokerages with read-only access. Map each broker account to a new or existing portfolio, choose an import start date, review the results, and import eligible transactions. Current positions and cash come from broker snapshots, while recent transaction history may arrive later. Broker Sync is not available during the trial or when a subscription is free, past-due, or canceled. Interactive Brokers is currently the only Optioneer-tested brokerage. Other brokerages may be available, but coverage varies by broker, region, and account type. See the Broker Sync guide for setup, refresh timing, statuses, troubleshooting, and disconnect behavior.
Alerts (profit targets, stop losses, expiry warnings, and auto-exercise events) are included in Premium and active trials. You can receive them by email and, in the Android app, by app push notification.
Yes! Multiple portfolios is now available for Premium users. You can create and manage separate portfolios for different strategies or accounts, all within a single Optioneer account.
The Options Screener is included during the Premium trial and in Premium. Discovery is also part of Premium access, with multi-symbol scans across 2,500+ stocks to find income, momentum, and LEAPS opportunities.

Options Screener: Analyze option chains for one ticker at a time. Filter by strike, expiry, delta, and more. Great for evaluating specific stocks you're already watching.

Discovery (Premium): Scan 2,500+ curated stocks at once using prebuilt strategy filters during your Premium trial or ongoing Premium subscription. Find wheel candidates, high theta income plays, covered call setups, and trending momentum opportunities without manually checking each ticker.

Trending stocks may have higher volatility and wider bid/ask spreads. These scans are designed for experienced traders looking for momentum plays and are clearly labeled as speculative. We recommend using limit orders and managing position sizes carefully.

Use the Feedback button (visible when signed in) to submit bug reports directly. For feature requests, visit the Feature Requests board to suggest improvements and vote on what matters most to you.

We review all submissions and prioritize based on community votes and impact.

Yes. PMCC is available as a native strategy, not just a custom trade. Optioneer tracks the long LEAP call as the anchor and the active short call as the income leg.

PMCC analytics include total strategy P&L, anchor LEAP P&L, current short-call P&L, cumulative premium collected, adjusted LEAP basis, current short-call strike and expiry, and ITM or assignment-risk state.

Yes. When CSV import finds the same underlying with one long call expiring later and one short call expiring sooner, it can classify the position as a PMCC. Future short calls are attached to the same PMCC when the LEAP anchor is still open; ambiguous cases are left for review or treated as a regular diagonal spread.
Yes. The Premium trial includes paper portfolio workflows, options strategy tracking, market data-supported analysis, advanced discovery, alerts, CSV import, and portfolio tools. Premium keeps the same workspace available after the trial.
Optioneer does not offer a free plan. The 7-day Premium trial requires a payment method and costs $0 today. Your selected subscription starts after the trial unless you cancel.
After the trial, Premium is the plan for ongoing portfolio tracking, paper portfolio workflows, alerts, CSV import, advanced discovery, and read-only Broker Sync. Broker Sync requires an active paid Premium subscription and is not available during the trial.
Premium is available now with monthly and yearly plans. Check the pricing page for the latest details.
Web prices are shown on the Optioneer pricing page. Native iOS and Android prices are localized and shown by the App Store or Google Play before purchase; the store display is authoritative.

Yes! Premium includes a 7-day trial. Payment details are required to activate it, but no subscription fee is charged when the trial begins. After your trial, you'll be automatically billed at the regular rate unless you cancel. You can cancel anytime during your trial with no further charges.

Need to cancel? Open account Settings and use the management option for the provider that bills you: Apple for App Store subscriptions, Google Play for Android subscriptions, or Stripe for web subscriptions. You can also email us at support@optioneer.io.

Manage changes through the provider currently billing you: Apple, Google Play, or Stripe. Plan switching is not initially available for Google Play. To change providers, cancel the current plan, keep access through expiration, and subscribe with the other provider only after it expires.
Yes. Stripe, Apple, and Google Play Premium subscriptions work across supported Optioneer web, iOS, and Android apps after you sign in to the same Optioneer account. Purchases and refunds remain managed by the original billing provider.
Market data access depends on provider availability, licensing, and the data available for each contract. Enhanced market data tools are included during the Premium trial and in ongoing Premium access.
Right now, Optioneer supports US-listed stocks and options with market data for pricing, analytics, and options-related features. If we see consistent requests for other options markets, we will evaluate coverage and plan support for those in the future.
Optioneer supports manual tracking for positions from any broker and CSV imports in Premium. Interactive Brokers is currently the only Optioneer-tested Broker Sync connection. Additional brokerages may be available through SnapTrade, but availability and data coverage vary by broker, region, and account type. A SnapTrade catalog listing does not guarantee support for every account or data type.
Yes. Optioneer is available on iOS, Android, and as a responsive web app. An active Optioneer Premium trial or subscription is required to access Premium features.
Greeks are calculated using the Black-Scholes model with available market data, time to expiration, strike price, and implied volatility inputs.
We use encrypted transport, secure authentication with Supabase, and access controls to protect application data. We do not sell personal information. We use authorized service providers to operate Optioneer, including SnapTrade when a user chooses Broker Sync; see the Privacy Policy and Security page for details.
Broker authorization is completed through SnapTrade’s secure connection portal, not by entering broker credentials in Optioneer. Broker Sync is read-only, access details are treated as sensitive application data, and Optioneer does not request trading permissions or place orders.
Yes. CSV export remains part of Optioneer because data ownership matters. You can export your positions and trade history from your account when export access is available.
Create an account, then add positions using manual trade entry or CSV import. Optioneer calculates and tracks your P&L, Greeks, and performance metrics. Active paid Premium users can also connect a supported brokerage to sync current positions and cash and import eligible transaction history.
Optioneer is an options portfolio tracker built specifically for retail traders. Unlike spreadsheets or institutional tools, Optioneer provides a clean, simple interface for tracking positions, Greeks, P&L, and performance analytics during trial and in Premium.
For long positions: P&L = (Current Premium - Entry Premium) × Quantity × 100. For short positions: P&L = (Entry Premium - Current Premium) × Quantity × 100. We use available pricing inputs to estimate the current premium based on the underlying stock price, time to expiration, and implied volatility.
Options Greeks measure how your position responds to market changes. Delta shows price sensitivity (how much your position moves per $1 change in the stock). Theta measures time decay (how much value you lose each day). Gamma measures how Delta changes. Vega shows volatility sensitivity. Understanding Greeks helps you manage risk and make informed trading decisions.
Yes. You can manually track IBKR positions and use CSV imports where supported. Active paid Premium users can also check the secure Broker Sync connection portal for currently available brokerages. Broker availability can vary, and Optioneer does not place trades or execute orders.

Unlike spreadsheets, Optioneer updates available prices and Greeks, provides visual P&L charts, shows portfolio-level metrics, and reduces manual formula maintenance. See our full comparison: Optioneer vs Excel.
