Interactive Brokers portfolio synchronization roadmap

A dedicated overview of Optioneer’s planned read-only IBKR synchronization for positions, balances, transactions, and options analytics.

Broker integrations are read-only and used exclusively for portfolio synchronization and analytics.

Optioneer does not place trades or execute orders on behalf of users.

Planned read-only synchronization starts with IBKR.

Designed for portfolio tracking and analytics, not trading.

Future OAuth support will preserve read-only scopes.

IBKR integration overview

Optioneer is actively developing planned broker synchronization support starting with Interactive Brokers (IBKR). The planned IBKR integration is designed for secure read-only synchronization between Interactive Brokers and Optioneer for portfolio tracking and analytics.

Supported account data

The planned IBKR integration is intended to support read-only information such as:

  • Open positions
  • Cash and account balances
  • Transactions and transfers relevant to portfolio tracking
  • Options activity, including option position and transaction details

Portfolio synchronization flow

  • The planned IBKR integration becomes available after broker onboarding and review.
  • The user authorizes IBKR through a read-only flow where available.
  • Optioneer imports available account data into portfolio tracking views.
  • Analytics, balances, positions, and options activity refresh for the user.

Current integration architecture

Optioneer's IBKR integration architecture focuses on secure read-only account synchronization, normalization of broker-provided account data, and user-visible analytics as part of roadmap-stage integration work. Public documentation intentionally avoids exposing private implementation details, operational tooling, or internal infrastructure paths.

Read-only guarantees

Optioneer does not request trading authorization for IBKR synchronization. The integration is being built to import account data for analytics only. Optioneer does not place trades or execute orders on behalf of users.

Security and privacy

If future IBKR synchronization is supported, IBKR data will be used to power the user's own portfolio tracking experience inside Optioneer. Sensitive access information is handled as confidential application data, and broker data is not sold. See Security, Privacy, and Data Deletion for related controls.

Future OAuth support

Optioneer is preparing for broker OAuth onboarding where supported by Interactive Brokers and applicable review processes. Future OAuth support will continue to use read-only scopes for synchronization and analytics, without trading permissions.

Troubleshooting

  • For future IBKR sync, reconnect from the broker sync area if access stops.
  • If authorization is revoked at IBKR, authorize the connection again before syncing.
  • If account data looks incomplete, confirm the expected account is available in IBKR.
  • For help, contact Optioneer support with your account email and a brief description.
